California :: Potential Limited-Practice Licensing Program

According to an article published in the February issue of the California Bar Journal, the State Bar Board of Trustees is considering a limited-practice licensing program. Essentially, this would create a new class of professionals who could give legal advice. The idea is to create new areas of employment by permitting law students and those who have yet to pass the bar to put their skills to use. Furthermore, this would enable these individuals to provide legal services to the public at lower rates than those typical of today’s legal market. To read the article in its entirety, click here.
