Wyoming :: Deceptive Business Filings

Wyoming is the latest state to be targeted by a corporate scam. Businesses across the state have received an official-looking form that appears to be an “Annual Minutes Disclosure Statement.” The misleading document insinuates that it must be completed and returned, along with a $125 fee, in order for the businesses to comply with state and national laws. If you receive such a solicitation you DO NOT need to mail it in or pay the $125 fee. The Wyoming Secretary of State-issued consumer alert makes it clear that the deceptive form is not from their office, and that annual minutes do not need to be filed.

Any business that receives a questionable form should contact the WY SOS office by emailing compliance@wyo.gov or by calling 307.777.7370.
