New Jersey 2010 Amendments to UCC Article 9

New Jersey has become the latest state to enact the 2010 Amendments to UCC Article 9. On Thursday, June 13, 2013, Governor Chris Christie signed Senate Bill 2144 (SB 2144) into law, enacting the 2010 Amendments. The new law, which takes effect on July 1, 2013, provides the Alternative A “Only If” approach for individual debtor name. In addition to enacting the 2010 Amendments, the bill also repeals and replaces Chapters 1 and 7 of the UCC, as well as revises various additional provisions of the code.
