Vermont :: Increases in Secretary of State Filing Fees

Earlier this month, Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin signed into law House Bill 240, which will increase various filing fees associated with work processed by the Secretary of State’s corporations division. Effective July 1, 2013, consumers will see an increase made to the following filing fees:

  • Business Entity Formations & Qualifications –
    Domestic & Foreign: Fees will increase to $125
  • Corporation Annual Reports –
    Domestic: Fees will increase from $35 to $45
    Foreign: Fees will increase from $175 to $200
  • LLC Annual Reports –
    Domestic: Fees will increase from $25 to $35
    Foreign: Fees will increase from $125 to $140
  • Certificates of Good Standing –
    Fees will increase from $20 to $25
  • Service of Process –
    Fees will increase from $20 to $25

The current state fling fees can be viewed here, while the updated filing fee schedule that becomes effective July 1, 2013 can be found here. Be sure to plan accordingly for any filings submitted and date stamped after July 1, 2013, including the updated fee along with your transaction or it will be rejected.
